1. Your original comment was 'this series isn't helping', before you edited it. Thus, why I hate the edit button.
This is not a series. This is just a one shot collection of anime shorts.
2. For all its whoring out, there has yet to be a bad halo game. There are people who will tell you that the games are bad, but they are simply people who cannot distinguish between 'I do not like it' and 'It is bad'.
The 'OMG' factor of Halo is surprisingly elusive and the franchise is whored out when you have... a... Link avatar? Really?
3. Its a story about space marines, aided by a really powerful marine, fighting different species of aliens, with the equivilant of space zombies trying to eat them all.
Calling the 'OMG' factor surprisingly elusive is essentially writing off every Aliens, Star Wars, Star Trek, BSG etc etc etc series ever made. Or do you just not like science fiction at all?
And I might be the lamest Halo fanboy ever to be telling you this. Never owned 2, played the shit out of 1 with high school chums and 3 only sees 360 use once every six months when my friends throw a game together.

I should summarize all that.
Its okay if you don't like it, but don't pretend like its easy to find nothing to like about it, unless you're willing to admit the fault lies with you and not the games.
I do not like basketball games. Thats my fault, not theirs.

Ooh, I love numbered lists. My turn my turn!
1. Actually, my first comment had to do with American companies attempting to emulate Japanese animation, however I soon remembered that a Japanese animation studio was involved in the project, hence the edit to a different comment of mine. You seem to have caught me in the middle of that process. Why you felt that worth bringing up is beyond me.
2. Halo Wars says hi.
2.5 (as you seem to have missed a number there) Personal attacks are fun, right? Easy too.
3. Believe it or not, there is a lot of trash involving space marines and aliens out there as well. So, all the successes must have something beyond these simple elements to them, right? A lot of people have found something in the Halo franchise that I haven't, hence me wondering about it.
4. (really, if you're going to make a numbered list, the least you could do is keep the format consistent :P ) Er, cool. Glad you have fun with your friends, I guess.

That said, I'm reeeeally looking forward to this. Not so much because its Halo, but because I really dug the animatrix, as well as the recent Iron Man anime. Japanese takes on American icons come out pretty interesting.

We came up with what we refer to as the "Creed Effect".
Halo is itself and as a series is not any different than most games with several sequels under the old belt.
Truth of the matter is that nothing is really wrong with "Halo" as a series, it has just became so popular so quick and of course the fact that it fueled XBox fanboy's "MINE" wars that many others (Sony Fanboys) will hate it on the context they can't have it. While it's meteoric rise is something that can't be denied, it is also a big part of the animosity that people feel toward it.
People love to hate something that is popular beyond all reason. (Now this is when I finally bing in the creed effect).
Creed the band, though nothing really wrong with the group (music wasn't my flavor but they did't "suck") is generally hated....well....by everyone. Really for no better reason than at some point in time (mostly due to Scott Stapp being a jack ass) it became popular to hate them. Kids being all over them like they would be the new Led Zeppelin did't help them either.
This is really the exact same thing that has happened to Halo, It's not bad (though not for everyone). Microsoft is generally a jackass about most things, and the kids love it and say that it has given birth to the modern day FPS.
Anyway that is all.

I just think the plot is horrible and very cliche, the main character design is bad, and, overall, it's a storyline that's been done to death and it doesn't add anything at all.
And, yes, I've played it. FPS aren't really my cup of tea. I got bored with it before I even finished one level.

So, yeah, get over yourself is pretty much what I'm saying. I'm a PS3 fan and supported and argued hard for bluray, but I think it could be a good gesture even if they don't make any profit off it. They could make a limited run, like 10,000 or something. Sort of like how Dreamcast games still get made from time to time.
