You Do Not Tease the Return of the Terrifying Creepy Watson

This is not something you joke about, Focus Home Interactive. Once you invoke Creepy Watson, there is no going back.

A questionable programming decision granted the erstwhile sidekick to the world's greatest detective disturbing supernatural powers in 2007's Sherlock Holmes versus Arsène Lupin. Creepy Watson disappeared in 2012's The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, replaced with a motion-captured imposter with actual walking animations. This made many people sad. Also relieved.

Now developer Frogwares is working on Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, scarpping their own engine in favor of Unreal Engine 3, and if anything needed to be made Unreal, it's Spooky Watson.

I was so happy, at least until Focus Home Interactive PR crushed my heart with "It's just an April Fool's Joke for now."

That "for now" better have been accompanied by dramatic music.

Listen, your life could depend on this. Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're death. He is fast, faster that you could believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away and don't blink!... Good luck.
