Why There's No Stranger's Wrath On Xbox 360 (Yet)

The decision to bring Xbox classic Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath to the PS3 and not the Xbox 360 seemed a strange one, what with the game making its name on the Xbox. Turns out there's a very good reason for this.

Developers Just Add Water have stated on their blog "we are NOT PS3 Exclusive. As far as we are concerned we are a multi-platform company, supporting the big 3, PC/PS3 & 360". So why has only a PS3 version of the classic shooter been revealed?

It's because of file-size limitations. The game in its bare state clocks in at 2.1GB on the PS3, while Xbox Live Arcade has a maximum file size limit of 2GB. JAW say "either we have to pull a miracle out of the bag with some type of amazing compression system, or ask Microsoft to increase their 2GB limit".

That or downgrade the graphics a touch to get it under the limit. Indeed, it seems to simple a solution that were JAW to come out in a few months and say "oh, hey, it's coming to the Xbox 360 now too", we wouldn't exactly be shocked. Especially since that explanation doesn't cover the lack of a PC version.
