Thunder, thunder, Thundercats… no! Come with us, children of the 1980s and journey through a twisted tale about why there was only one terrible game based on the mega-popular fightin' cat-people cartoon.

Old-game archivist Larry Bundy digs deep in the sketchy game publishing history tactics of three decades ago to find out why a seeming license to print money—a NES video game based on the Thundercats—never happened. Lion-O did have adventures on the ZX Spectrum and other systems but none on Nintendo's dominant home console. After seeing the shenaningans involved in the games that could've been, fans of Thundera's adventurers were probably better off that they never happened.
