What Do Pac Man's Ghosts Taste Like?

Pac Man has been spending decades chowing down on stuff. Eating seems to come so naturally to him I never stopped to consider if he enjoys the taste of everything he eats. Apparently, neither have his owners.

During the Q&A session at a presentation of the upcoming Pac Man game, Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, Michael McWhertor of Polygon asked director Kunito Komori that very important question: just what do ghosts taste like? Komori answered,

"As far as I know, they taste pretty… bad."

That seems a little odd. I don't know, but one might assume that if ghosts taste "pretty bad" then Pac Man might be a little more hesitant to eat so many of them. Komori seemed to realize this, and after a few moments of introspection, he gave his official word on the matter.

"[Ghosts are] very, very tasty – like fruits."

His second answer makes a little more sense, but in all honesty, this may be the first time that attention has been turned to the issue. Bandai Namco may eventually have a more specific answer down the line. Maybe even some ghost-flavored treats like power pellet candies.

Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, is scheduled for release on the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox 360, and PS3, on October 14th. And the ghosts taste like fruit.
