It’s getting hot over here on the west coast. So hot! Better stay in and play games instead.
Now that the big VR headsets are shipping and I’ve exhausted myself making videos of VR games, I’m taking a break from head-mounted displays and playing stuff on a regular screen.
This weekend I’ll mainly be playing Dark Souls 3, which I like a lot even though I’m currently working through the bummer-ass swamp area. Thanks to some shameless farming and a few lucky discoveries, I’ve got a cool-looking set of armor and high enough stats to do some damage in combat. I’m entering the thickest part of a Souls game, where you’ve mastered enough areas that you’ve got a firm foundation and you never run out of things to do.
I’m also playing Quantum Break, which I started last night and already like way more than I was expecting to. It really is a Remedy game, and the first live-action TV episode I saw was basically a low-ish-rent episode of Fringe. Which isn’t so bad. Glad I’m not playing on PC, though, good lord.
In non-gaming news I’ll be watching more Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (holy shit it is so good) and possibly finishing up The People vs. OJ Simpson, which has also been great.
That’ll probably do it for me, though I might sneak a bit of VR stuff into the spaces. How about you? What are you playing this weekend?
