Another week on the books! Another weekend looms! Let’s play some video games.
Holy cow man, the games are piling up. Remember when the January/February window was considered a slow period for new games? Yeah, me neither. Between the stuff that recently came out and the stuff that’s about to, I’m absolutely drowning in games to play. I don’t know what to do with myself. It’s great.
This weekend I’ll be playing a whole lot of two things: Dying Light: The Following, which is out next week and which I can talk about then, and XCOM 2, which is out today and which I’m happy to tell you is just as fabulous as hell. (Read Nathan’s review for a more nuanced take.) I’m still replaying both Batman: Arkham Knight and Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC; I’ve survived the “Tank vs. Arkham Knight” gauntlet in the last act of Arkham Knight and think I’m actually going to get the full ending this time around. Lord knows if I’ll have time for all the standalone “episodes,” though. I’m also near the end of Rise of the Tomb Raider and plan to spend more time exploring the final area this time around.
I’m also still working away at The Witness, which I imagine will be true for the next six months or so, and I have plans to return to Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, though XCOM 2 is currently occupying the “PC Strategy” part in my mind.
That’s it for me - how about you? Holler.
