ProjectXZone-Gameplay

Project X Zone is a game that combines many of Capcom, Sega, and Namco-Bandai's most famous franchises into one mega crossover—including series like Street Fighter, Valkyria Chronicles 3, and Tekken, among many others.

On the battle map, it's like most strategy games. On your turn, you move your characters around a grid-based map and attack the enemy forces. As always in tactical RPGs, unit placement is key and strategy paramount. By placing your units adjacent to each other, you are able to gain an extra team-up attack in battle, for example, but this also leaves you open to area-of-effect enemy counter-attacks.

In actual battle, however, it plays like its predecessor, Namco x Capcom. Instead of using a standard turn-based battle system, you control your characters in real time for a period of about fifteen seconds (three or four attacks). During this time, you attempt to chain your different normal and team-up attacks into combos for maximum damage—making it far more fast-paced than your average strategy RPG.

Project X Zone was released on October 11, 2012, for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. There are currently no plans for an international release.
