Watch Someone Freak Out Over A Virtual Reality Opera

If you have an Oculus Rift, you're probably always looking for new games and demos to try out. Well the next one is a bit different. It's a short opera in a beautiful rendition of the afterlife.

The film is beautiful on its own, but it's also a perfect demo for a different type of Oculus Rift experience. You can see YouTuber emart's reactions to the opera in the video above.

The film itself was based on a piece of music, which they then added Oculus Rift support to. If you don't have an Oculus of your own, you can watch the film here.

They should make one with just a virtual stage and virtual audience that possibly also has backing tracks minus the vocals that you can choose from to perform, one in which the whole game as such is you singing normally and the audience reacts as though you was really on stage singing to them plus some judges optional on/off mode.

Maybe it could be a Got Talent type virtual game or in a sense an evolution of the karaoke type genre games. Even better would be making it online compatible if have internet and a microphone in which other people can view your performance by visiting your game and they replace a virtual audience member inside your game. You appear to them as an avatar of yourself until they perfect the technology to recreate a virtual you inside games but it is your voice singing on stage either way. :)

To the other player audience member it might not be as interesting as the player on stage but people flock to be on shows in audiences all the time so would be like that I guess for them, for the player singing though it would feel like they were actually performing to a large audience and get some way into how would feel to be a famous singer on stage at a large event.
