Now they've got their first crossover coming and to commemorate the occasion, they're doing retro game-inspired variant covers and releasing a free mobile game for iOS and Android devices. Releasing in mid-April, Harbinger Wars: Battle for Las Vegas is developed by Storm City Games.

It will be a free download available on all iOS and Android platforms. Further levels, weapons and characters will available as in-app purchases; they will be released in tandem with each new issue of the Harbinger Wars mini-series. The primary playable characters will be Bloodshot and Peter Stanchek (from Harbinger) and both will have access to a variety of weapons and abilities.

Yeah, the Valiant relaunch has been pretty much universally great. Just really good, solidly produced superhero comics. Which is exactly what I wanted from a Valiant relaunch. Archer & Armstrong and Harbinger are the standouts, but none of them have disappointed so far.

I still miss Dr Solar and Magnus though. After the disaster that was Jim Shooter's attempt at relaunching the Gold Key characters at Dark Horse, I'm really hoping NuValiant might have a shot at licensing those characters again and getting them back where they belong.

Oh, and looks like the next book to launch will be HardC.O.R.P.S, judging from the logo designs Rian Hughes has been posting. Not my favourite classic Valiant book, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
