Are you one of the PC gamers who prefers Origin to Steam?

Ok, ok! Sorry I asked. But hey, at least we can all agree that Titanfall is pretty awesome. And as Kotaku's Kirk Hamilton has said many times now, EA's hit multiplayer shooter plays like a dream on the PC. So if you're one of the unconvinced but still curious, you can play the whole game for free on your PC this weekend thanks to EA's newly minted Origin Game Time program.

Now, unless you're a PC gamer who's been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've probably heard of this little thing called the Steam Summer Sale going on right now. EA is continuing its subtle habit of shade-throwing by debuting a new kind of free game service for its competing PC gaming platform at the same. By EA's description, it sounds like a truncated version of the Instant Game Collection that Sony makes available for PlayStation Plus subscribers:

It's Game Time! This is a brand new program on Origin: it's free time with full games. Origin Game Time isn't a demo, it's the full game playable for free for as long as there's time on your Game Time clock. And we're kicking off Origin Game Time with a truly massive experience: Titanfall on PC.

This weekend you'll be able to download Titanfall and play for free for two days straight. We're launching Origin Game Time for Titanfall across the world over the next several hours, so if you don't see it available yet in your territory, you will soon. Origin Game Time games will appear on our Free Games page when they're available to download.

So: suit up, pilot. Your Titan is ready. But act now, because it'll self destruct in 24 hours unless you cave in and buy the thing.

So does this mean i get 48 hours of titanfall playtime, and i can freely use that whenever i wish? Cause that would mean i wouldn't even have to buy the game anymore. I hardly ever find the time to invest 48 hours into a game.

OR, is it just free to play for today and tomorrow?
