While I loved Transformers: War for Cybertron, at the end of the day I realize it wasn't much more than a cover-based shooter with robots. High Moon Studios is taking steps to make sure Fall of Cybertron is much more than that.
As game director Matt Tieger puts it, War for Cybertron was about proving a Transformers game could be good; Fall of Cybertron is about showing how great a Transformers game can be. That's not a subtle distinction. It's the difference between "That was fun!" and "Holy shit, did you see that?"
At least that's how I'm setting my expectations. After that pitiful excuse for a movie tie-in for Transformers: Dark of the Moon, High Moon better be bringing their A++ game this time around.
Grimlock and Bruticus certainly help, but their inclusion only merits an automatic 85. What'll it take for them to score that extra 15 points? The public and painful execution of Wheelie would be a good start.
