The first two letters are the same, but the third one's different, according to developer Crystal Dynamics, unveiling plans to release five different batches of Downloadable Lara Croft for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

Crystal Dynamics' Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light players can look forward to enough new DLC to keep them playing until 2011 once they download the game for Xbox Live on August 18 and the PC and PlayStation 3 on September 28.

The first downloadable content comes by way of an update for the Xbox Live Arcade version on September 28, giving it the two-player online co-op that's shipping with the other two versions.

Once that's out of the way, Crystal Dynamics will be releasing five packs of additional DLC between October and December. Three of the packs will expand on the puzzles, combat, and exploration of the game proper, and the remaining two will be packs that add additional player characters to the mix, including "some other well-known videogame characters."

"DLC for us means Downloadable Lara Croft," said Darrell Gallagher, General Manager of Crystal Dynamics. "It all begins in August with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light releasing on XBLA and runs through to the end of the year with the additional packs we will be offering. Oh and be prepared for a few surprises."

Gex? Oh please let it be Gex. Gex or Kain, I'm not picky.
