To-Do In Los Angeles: Play Skullgirls and Skulls of the Shogun at Giant Robot

Angelenos, Santa Monicans and sundry Southern Californians, if you'd like to play some video games outside this weekend, join us for Giant Robot's "Game Night 5" in Los Angeles on Saturday night to get your hands on future indie hits Skullgirls and Skulls of the Shogun.

Giant Robot, with a little help from my friends at Meat Bun, Attract Mode, Angry Bananas and the LA Game Space, are hosting a night of video game skull-o-mania: two games with skull in their names, two games that definitely do not play the same. Skullgirls is a 2D fighting game, built by people who love old-school fighters. Skulls of the Shogun, on the other hand, is an Advance Wars-inspired turn-based strategy game, the kind you shouldn't be intimidated to play in front of a crowd.

We've played and written about both in the past, but now may be your chance to play them—projected on the side of a building, no less.

Game Night 5 at Giant Robot's GR2 store has an added bonus. Lots and lots of people bringing Nintendo 3DSs for StreetPassing fun. Come, hang out, play and see some games.

Since I help run Meat Bun, I'll be there for a bit, at least to help set this thing up. Come out and say "Hi"? Here are the details:
