This is the Most Evil EverQuest II's Freeport Has Looked in Years

From the generic fantasy city of the original EverQuest to the grungy spires of EverQuest 2, the city of Freeport has never quite captured the spirit of being the home to everything evil on Norrath. Until now, that is.

EverQuest 2 game update 62 hits early next month, bringing with it the return of Overlord Lucan D'Lere to his seat of power and an expansive remodeling of that seat into the jagged gold-plated throne his royally evil ass deserves. The guy's voiced by Sarumon, crying out loud, get his guards some pointy armor!

The new design looks much better, or at least it will until Flash Gordon shows up and ruins everything.

Ahh Everquest. The first game was almost magical when you played it as your first MMO. All the little things about it made it something special. The hours spent camping and waiting at a loading zone saying "Lvl # LFG". Jewelcraft and Poison making being the only viable trades for the longest time(JC for resists and poison being the only thing that could slow a certain dragon in ToV). Epic weapons that were gravely overshadowed by new loot in the expansion afterwards(Velius). Raiding like it was a job at times(Literally 8+ hour raids). It was fun times for a while.
