Seeing as how the original version of Crush on the PlayStation Portable was all about shifting perspective from 2D to 3D and back, it's fitting that Sega's liked-but-ignored platformer gets a second chance at life on the 3DS.
The trailer above—with British narration a tad reminiscent of Stephen Frye's work for LittleBigPlanet—re-introduces Danny and explains how he must wander through and solve puzzles in a gameworld sprung from his own imagination. Crush 3D sports StreetPass functionality, a cartoonier art style than its PSP predecessor and will have new characters and locations, too. This version looks like it'll benefit from the stereoscopic visuals the 3DS makes possible. It'll be available on January 10.
