After teasing us with leaks and more leaks, CD Projekt RED and Atari finally pull back the curtain on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and if the first trailer is any indication, Geralt of Riva is in fine form.

Early trailer leaks aside, this is the first time we've received any official word on the release of a follow-up to one of the best PC role-playing titles of 2007. The first game, based on the works of Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, featured amazing visuals, a solid storyline, and a fair amount of nudity and sexual situations.

Judging by this official trailer, the visuals are in place, as are the adult situations. As for the story, it seems to have something to do with some fellows assassinating kings.

"I am really glad to officially present what we've been working on for over two years," said Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt RED. "We learned a lot during The Witcher's development process, and are using that knowledge to ensure the sequel is one of the best RPGs people have ever played. By improving upon the successful parts of the original and adding new elements we believe that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be loved by fans of the original and newcomers alike."

The game will be shown publicly tomorrow during the CD Projekt Spring 2010 conference, which will be broadcast live on the company's website.

Having devoted many hours to the original game, I'm vaguely tingly with excitement.
