The Week In Games: How To Double Your Dragons

Decades later, I still have no idea what Double Dragon was about.

Double Dragon IV is a game that’s entering the wild this week despite being requested by no one in particular because Japanese developer Arc System Works saw fit to purchase the rights to the series back in 2015. As a result, I spent a second trying to remember what the games I used to beat my head against a wall playing on my NES wanted me to accomplish. Apparently it has something to do with two brothers, one of whom has a girlfriend who’s always getting captured by ninjas or something.

And yet from those humble narrative seeds spouted thousands of arcade cabinets and a live action feature length movie that won’t soon be forgotten.
