The Ultimate Mobile Drift Racing Experience Skids Into the Sequel Lane

Drifting is the art of making cars do things cars should not do and spending a lot of money on tires. Ratrod Studios' Drift Mania Championship 2 for iOS, Android and soon Windows 8 devices is a much cheaper alternative.

The sequel to the wildly popular Drift Mania Championship is now available for play on iOS devices and Android things, and the developer is convinced this is the ultimate drift racing experience on any platform. While I lack the knowledge to shoot down or stand behind such a claim, I can say that the original game was a surprisingly technical piece of racing goodness, aimed at the sort of folks that enjoy large dangerous things sliding across the ground like they slipped on a nanner.

The latest installment comes packed with 13 different fully customizable vehicles, 13 drift circuits and tons of parts to put inside your car to make it swoosh better. The swooshing is important.

Drift Mania Championship 2 was developed in collaboration with DMCC, the only professional drifting series in Canada, which I did not know was a thing. It is officially sponsored by NOS Energy Drink. I knew that was a thing. Mmmm.

The branding and the "NOS canister" bottle might be a bit silly, but NOS energy drink is actually pretty good stuff, if you like your drinks with a serious dose of caffeine. One of my favorite energy drinks, and I've tried...a lot more of them than can possibly be healthy. They actually taste good enough to be a very good drink even without the caffeine kick though. The "normal" grapefruit one is very refreshing, the cherry one is fantastic. Lemon-lime is only so-so, not as good as a plain old sprite or 7-up.

Anyway, this looks like a pretty decent game for the price, and I've been waiting for a fun new racing game for my EVO LTE. The link doesn't seem to work yet, but I hope it does soon.
