Star Trek: Infinite Space is no Star Trek: Armada, but it is a little reminiscent of the 2000 real-time strategy game. And, hey, it's free!
In this short video, publisher Gameforge shows off a quick space battle between a single Federation ship and a couple of Klingon Bird-of-Prey. I'll be writing up my impressions of the game later this week, but thought you might want to see a bit of the game in action. Sorry it's not longer, but the devs had a time limit on how much gameplay would could record.
It's playable, I'm told, on any computer that can run a modern browser. We're watching it here in the full-screen mode, which gets rid of any signs of the browser it is running in. It's also important to note that this is the pre-alpha build.
The massively multiplayer online space action game will take place during the Deep Space Nine timeframe, lets you play as either Klingon or Federation and will have at least a dozen types of ships for each species to choose from. No hard date has been set yet for the release, just sometime this year.
