When an official video game based on the most successful mature animated series in the history of television is one of the least exciting items on the list, you know you're in for one hell of a Week in Gaming Apps. What's better than Homer Simpson?
How about the experiemental music toy-meets-tower defense with a statement game, Bad Hotel? Or the classic card game Lost Cities? Gasketball is a hell of a lot of fun as well.
And then there's Horn. Sweet, sweet Horn. When a new Unreal Engine 3 game comes out for Android and iOS it's a spectacle. When it comes out and it plays as good as it looks? That's magic.
So sorry, The Simpsons: Tapped Out. You'll likely sell more in-game junk than all of these other games combined, but that doesn't make you better. It just makes you huge piles of cash.
If you have a suggestion for an app for the iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows Phone 7 that you'd like to see highlighted, let us know.

Chances are, you've played H-O-R-S-E. Maybe the last time you chucked up balls in the make-this-exact same-shot-as-someone-else basketball battle was in high school or a long time ago. But it probably didn't involve sawblades, teleporters and boost strips. More »
Wait, the Kwik-E-Mart Doesn't Actually Belong Next to the Flanders' House? D'oh!
I don't tend to enjoy city-building social games. I try them, and then I end up disappointed in my inability to advance quickly and I end up walking away rather than giving them my money. Clearly, the problem with every previous game I played was that it did not star The Simpsons. More »
Want Proof That Mobile Games are Catching Up to Consoles? Play Horn.
With The Dark Meadow, Phosphor Games Studio proved it could make a game that looked as good as a console title, but the sinister shooter's limited on-rails gameplay was strictly mobile-grade. This week, in conjunction with Zynga, Phosphor released its latest Unreal Engine 3 powered mobile game, Horn, and it's every bit as rich and satisfying as any console adventure game - and better than many.
