The Next Star Wars Pinball Trilogy Might Be Better Than The Last

The second triology of Star Wars tables for Pinball FX 2 and Star Wars Pinball begins with Darth Vader. Not the Midichlorian-rich little boy Darth Vader, but full-on, James Earl Jones-talking, force-choking, 25-sandwich-a-day-eating Darth "Motherf***ing" Vader. That's how you start a second trilogy.

Then we get a Return of the Jedi table, which screws with continuity in all sorts of ways, but as long as we get to hit some Ewoks with large silver balls, I'm down.

Rounding out the second trilogy is Star Wars: Starfighter Assault, which is essentially the pinball version of X-Wing Vs. Tie Fighter, which nobody can deny.

The three new tables join the previously released Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (oops) in Pinball FX 2 and Star Wars Pinball platforms everywhere this fall.

For those of you keeping score, that's PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC (Steam and Windows 8), Vita, 3DS, Mac, iOS and Android. I should have just left it at everywhere.

On the flip side September marks one full year since The Pinball arcade had any new dlc on the Xbox 360. Naturally hopes got up when they announced that they might be able to bring it back back in July, but ever since then it's once again been damning silence which gives the impression that they may never be able to bring the game back to the 360.

The month is young though, maybe some news might happen before September ends. Still, it's an anniversary, maybe there should be a fancy cake made and send it to Farsight Studios as a celebration gift...and maybe include a giant mallet just in case they want to make like Gallager and smash the thing instead of eating it.
