The Mortal Kombat Game That Never Was

There are a lot of Mortal Kombat games that should never have been made. This one at least had the foresight to be cancelled before it saw the light of day.

It was called Mortal Kombat: Fire & Ice (sadly, not pictured above), and was a co-operative game starring Scorpion and Sub-Zero, similar to 2005's Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. If you reckon that sounds just awesome, think about most of the Mortal Kombat games that were actually released in the last ten years. Then consider that this one wasn't.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon says it was binned because developers Paradox "couldn't do it in time and under budget" (work was due to commence straight after Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks), but I'm going instead propose it was because "nobody would buy a Mortal Kombat game that sounded like an aftershave".
