Between 2010 and 2011, war game Daisenryaku Perfect: Ruler of the Battlefield, which is made by a real Japanese game studio, was delayed eight times. Eight! So it’s no surprise that the PS4 version of the latest Daisenryaku Perfect game just got a new release date.

Daisenryaku Perfect 4.0 was slated for a December 21 release on the PS4. The game’s release date is now TBA. In an official release, the game’s developer SystemSoft stated that the reason for the delay was to “improve quality.”

Looks-wise, they’ve got a long way to go. Why is this even a PS4 game? (It’s not only a PS4 game, as the PC release hits on January 26, 2018, and the Switch version will be out on March 22, 2018. Look forward to delays!)

It’s not the first Daisenryaku to get a PS4 version, as the long-running series’ last entry first hit the PS4 in 2015. That game was delayed twice, and the 3DS version was canned. In 2016, a Daisenryaku title heading to the PS3 and the Vita was delayed. This sort of thing is expected for this franchise.

SystemSoft has been making Daisenryaku games since the mid-1980s. While the games aren’t much to look at, some fans love the tactical elements. The delays? Not so much.
