Diablo 3's skill system made me recall a lot of controversy in games with skill trees: Too much pigeon-holing. Once the min-maxers spill the beans on what is the best build: everyone goes that route and makes every other skill useless.

Granted, it's actually poor design by the developers and I have played games with skill tress that are actually balanced and allow A LITTLE variety but my point still stands, skill trees are a stupid system. Yes, it's my opinion and yes, I like variety. A varied skill system that is effective in multiple situations no matter the build you are using but rather depends on the player skill. I'd like a skill system where EVERY skill is effective.
