The amazing statue sculptors at NECA have new BioShock figures in the making. The coolest here at Toy Fair 2012 are the ones from BioShock Infinite. The new BioShock game is a long way away, so these won't be out, a NECA rep said, until Sept. 2012 or so. The game isn't slated for release until 2012 either. Waiting ain't easy.

CORRECTION: There was some confusion in the NECA booth today and either I misheard a company rep or they misspoke. Either way, let's clear this up. A member of the BioShock Infinite team at Irrational Games tells Kotaku that all of the statues shown in this post are actually from BioShock 2, which, away from the frenzy of Toy Fair's show floor, does conform with my recollection of that game. I apologize for any miscommunication, but it appears what NECA was trying to convey was that they will have BioShock Infinite statues... but that the sign here does not signify that any are characters who will appear in Infinite.

It isn't clear enough from the article or article title that NECA are announcing that they have the Bioshock Infinite license in 2012 (and well they might, because the Bioshock NECA series has been fantastic). (i.e. These are not Bioshock Infinite toys. Of course they're not: The Handymen are the headlining monsters and these are quite clearly from Bioshock 2)

The items on display are from the latest (probably last) wave of Bioshock 2 figures. That's the Spider and Brute Splicers on the left, a new recolour of the Ladysmith splicer and a random Rosie Big Daddy to remind you that it's Bioshock 2.

And 'Infinite' will still be a terrible name in 2012.
