The Best of Kotaku, This Week

Welcome to the Best of Kotaku, where I round up all of this week's best content.

This week's best image is a print inspired by Skyrim that you can buy for $65. Or you can get the original for a cool $1,000. Thanks to XombieDIRGE for the find.

Moving on to our Best Of content this week, we kick things off as usual with a comment from the community.

Our favorite comment of this week comes to you from Idontwanttousemyfacebookaccount:

I saw a Dutch documentary about Bruna a couple of years ago which first shows him as this lovable old man that takes about 30 minutes to draw Miffy's (Nijntje in Dutch) head. After which it goes on to show he has this big ass legal department of staff that just combs over the world to sue the shit out off..

I've disliked him ever since, I believe in protecting your intellectual properties, but just to go around and sue every white bunny (or animal for that matter) on the planet is just retarded and just comes off as money grubbing.

Here's an article on the matter from last year
http://www.rnw.nl/africa/article/miffy-cracks-down-copyright-infringements

They say it's not a hobby of theirs and that they've only gone to court three times, that's probably because nobody really has the money to fight them.

And the whole "protect the children" out set is bullshit, if that really were the case why does it have to go further than a cease and desist?
Besides children aren't stupid, they know the difference between Miffy and Mifler, and if they don't, they probably don't know (yet) who Hitler was in the first place, or for that matter what Miffy is doing in a picture that's supposed to show her snorting coke.

Over at Mercis/Bruna they just can't appreciate parody. that's for sure.
