Persona 5 isn’t just a fantastic video game, it’s an absolute feast for the senses, with a strong, confident art style that runs from its character design all the way through to its menus.
Much of this is down to the genius of the series’ longtime art director Shigenori Soejima, whose leadership here has resulted in a game that manages to differentiate itself from Persona 4, creating a far more “adult” cast and setting (replacing P4's yellow & green palette with bold reds and blacks), while at the same time managing to retain the trademark Persona look throughout.
Below is a showcase of art done for the game, featuring character art, concept sketches and promotional pieces. They’re just a small sample of what’s available in the Japanese-language art book (which is already out), but to save you the trouble of guessing what every caption says, Prima will be releasing an English-language version in June.
