Inelegant and tedious, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the anti-Nintendo game. In a year full of triumphs for the spunky Switch, this massive role-playing game is a disappointment.

Xenoblade 2 will officially release during the 2017 holiday season, despite rumors that it was delayed to 2018. The action RPG is sure to have plenty of blades and I’m sure some of them will be quite ‘xeno.’
Nintendo Switch is getting a major JRPG from Monolith, and—surprise!—it’s a direct sequel to Xenoblade. Tonight, Nintendo announced Xenoblade 2, showing off a quick teaser trailer and not much else.
