11.Venom: The Last Dance (2024)

The conclusion to the Venom trilogy is absolutely that, providing a definitive ending to the relationship between Eddie Brock and his alien host. It’s also more audacious than what’s come before, doubling down on the absurdity and camp, including a sequence where Venom jumps from animal to animal, a sing-along to David Bowie, and a dance scene with Mrs. Chen (Peggy Lu). While the film’s villain is too removed from the proceedings to feel like a real threat, the real tension is whether or not the relationship between Venom and Eddie can survive. It’s here where the film really delivers, anchoring the moments of true absurdity around it with some real emotional gravitas.
