Not every Thanksgiving meal is a lavish feast. In honor of those who find themselves alone or with meager means on America’s snackiest holiday, Snacktaku shares the traditional cheap-ass alternative, the turkey TV dinner.
Swanson’s Hungry Man turkey dinner is no replacement for a house full of friends and family within one or two words from tearing out each other’s throats with the good silverware, but its heavily-preserved offering of meat, mashed potatoes, seasoned breadcrumbs, school cafeteria veggies and cranberry baby food are as close as you’re going to get for a couple bucks.
But we’re not here to talk about the pros and cons of frozen TV dinners. We’re here to share a meal together. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.
Snacktaku is Kotaku’s take on the wild and wonderful world of eating (and drinking) things.
