Setting The Terrifying Tone Of F.E.A.R. 3

Have we seen all there is to F.E.A.R.? In this behind-the-scenes video the Day 1 Studios team explains how it's keeping the experience and the terror fresh in F.E.A.R. 3.

I am intrigued by this notion of wide-open spaces in what is essentially a horror first-person shooter. Ever since the original Alien I've felt the only way to make a man with access to ridiculous amounts of firepower truly terrified is to place him in tight confines where the range of his weapons is no longer an advantage.

While there's still plenty of close-quarters combat in F.E.A.R. 3, the wide-open space shown in this clip have me wondering where the scares will come from. Perhaps creepy little girl turned mother Alma has something to do with it.

so....DX9 and graphics that even the original xbox could do..

really most if not almost all games i play still look like they from xbox. basically enviroments that look fake in the sense that u can tell it was pieced together by a map editor bc of the crazy or unrealistic design of parts and weird placement and that feeling its not really their or part of it just dragged on dropped. the guns, bottles, and creatures all look the same.

these games run on the xboxes radeon x1900 that scored 980pts in futuremark

current gen graphics cards pull 7-80k and with the power of 4 gpu's and 8core cpu's the performance could be over 250X thats 250times the performance of the xbox.

so 250times the performance could mean 250x the graphics

meaning since u already got the textures and people and things that move and arent 8bit if you apply twice the performance to a station.. wouldnt that mean twice the graphics potential if dont right?

the only games ive seen that actually look amazingly real was crysis 2. it was literally. omfg but of course its still not perfect. rendering and game engines just cant seem to make it soo it takes full potential of the gpu's power because of badly optimized engines and for profit.

why better the engine if 95% of profit is comming from 7 year old consoles(technology from 2004) and u can just reuse that 6 year old unreal engine 3 as many times as you want... bull

i want realistic stuff and now. im tired of looking at triangular heads and faces that u cant tell apart from one another
