It's just been announced that upcoming JRPG End of Eternity - due in Japan at the end of the year - will be getting a Western release, courtesy of Sega.

It'll be out in the spring of 2010.

The title will hit Western shores with a new name (Resonance of Fate), and if the Western release is anything like the Japanese one, it'll be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Hm. Does that name change not make any sense to anyone else?

The theme is almost entirely different, but both retain the whole 'Infininite Undiscovery' title-cheese, are three words and have 'of' in the middle.

In other words, the new one doesn't seem (to me) much better than the old.

IIII don't get it, but perhaps someone has ideas.

That aside, should be interesting to see how they incorporate that flashy gunplay with an RPG system.

Will it be similar to Fallout 3? Parasite Eve? Devil Summoner? Something new entirely? Time can only tell.
