Robots Now Have The Balance To Run Us Down (And Dance)

Fire won't stop them. Bullets won't stop them. Now not even a road covered in loose rocks will slow down our demise at the hands of our eventual robot destroyers.

This is Atlas, a humanoid robot from the nightmare factory that is Boston Dynamics. You'll not only notice that it has such amazing balance that it can navigate the rocky road (those cables are for power, not support), but that the thing is also starting to bear an uncanny resemblance to the Securitrons from Fallout.

You know how when you see old footage of the first planes the Wright brothers flew, and you think "Oh look at how quaint and awkward those are, but I guess they barely work".

REMEMBER VIDEOS LIKE THIS, as that is now the point we're pretty much at with robotics. One day you'll be able to tell your grandchildren that you remember when robots were just things in awesome Youtube videos, instead of soulless, unstoppable killing machines, roaming the planet, trying to eradicate us.
