Just in case you didn't stay up and watch the last Japanese edition of a Nintendo Direct presser, Nintendo of America has translated and re-uploaded this opening segment from it. Why? Because at the start it's got Nintendo's two biggest names—president Satoru Iwata and legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto—messing around in Luigi cosplasy in just about the most adorable way imaginable.
Yeah, Iwata wore the hat in the Western version of the presentation, but I have no idea why they cut the horseplay.

It wasn't too long ago the words "Nintendo Direct" filled me with dread, so boring and pointless were they. Amazing how quickly something so awful can become the best example of direct games marketing in the business.
