The Kova Nintendo Switch 2 Charger is a 60W USB-C AC adapter built as a replacement for the official Nintendo Switch 2 power brick. The Switch 2 launched in 2025 with a charging spec different from the original Switch, and many cheap third-party chargers on Amazon either don’t deliver enough power for the new console or won’t run the dock at full 4K output. The Kova adapter matches the original 20V/3A spec and works in both handheld and 4K TV dock mode.

The Kova Nintendo Switch 2 Charger is on sale at Amazon for $16, marked down from the $26 list. That’s $10 off, working out to a 38 percent discount.

A reliable replacement to ensure your Switch 2 stays charged up

The 60W Power Delivery 3.0 output is roughly 54 percent more power than the 39W brick that came with the original Nintendo Switch, which is what the Switch 2 needs to charge from dead to full in about 2.5 hours and to drive 4K output through the dock. Plug a first-generation Switch charger into a Switch 2 dock and the dock either won’t connect to a 4K TV at all or will fall back to a lower resolution. The Kova adapter handles full 4K dock mode without dropping resolution.

The charger is backward compatible with the original Switch, the Switch OLED, and the Switch Lite. So if you have a home with multiple console types, everyone can use this adapter. The charger’s output can also automatically negotiate depending on what is connected to it. So, you don’t have to worry about changing any settings manually.

The detachable 5-foot USB-C cable is the same length as the original Nintendo charger. Kova also sells 3.3-foot, 6.6-foot, and 10-foot versions for different room layouts. The cable is rated for 350,000 bend cycles, well beyond what a normal home charger sees in years of typical use, and the USB-C connector is reinforced at the joint where most cables eventually fray.

A built-in safety chip provides protection against overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuits. The adapter carries CE and FCC certification, the standard regulatory approvals for consumer electronics in the US. Kova includes a 1-year warranty. The wall brick is identical in size to the original Nintendo adapter, so it fits the same outlet space and travel cases without taking up extra room.

The Kova Nintendo Switch 2 Charger normally costs $26, and right now it’s $16. Replacement chargers for the Switch 2 from Nintendo’s official accessory line run upwards of $30 to $35, so picking up a backup that supports full 4K dock mode for $16 is a smart buy to keep in a drawer, a backpack, or a vacation house for the day the original charger goes missing.
