The freshly-announced New Super Mario Bros. 2, for the 3DS, sees Nintendo entering the digital download age for real, as the game will be available as either a packaged product at retail or as a downloadable title (which is saved to an SD card). Other titles will follow. Strangely, the downloadable option will also be available at retailers. [Twitter]
So, Pushmo, Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword, Freakyforms, and Dillon's Rolling Western don't count as "proper" downloadable games?
How do you measure the "properness", then?
Game quality? Because out of those 4 games I mentioned, I know that 3 range from "good" (Dillon's) to "fucking awesome" (Pushmo).
Game size, I guess? Judging the validity of a game based on its size is ridiculous. By that standard, then, games like VVVVVV or Cave Story don't count as proper games, right?
No? Yeah, I guessed it's not that. That only leaves me with the conclussion that, according to Luke, a game only counts as a "proper" downloadable game if it has Mario on it.
People complain that Nintendo doesn't make new IP's, but then, a lot of them completely disregard or ignore the actual new IP's they've made in the past few months. Sad, really. >___>
