The E3 gaming expo is next week. And the Federal Communication Commission has revealed that there are new PlayStation 3 models. But should we expect another redesign like the slimmed down PS3?
Two new PS3 models (CECH-2501A and CECH-2501B) have been tested by the FCC and certified for both 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. What's more is that there are two new debugging stations for the PS3 (DECH-2500A and DECH-S2500A).
It is worth noting that debug units typically change when there is a change in the chipset. So these new PS3 models probbaly are the same design as the current models, but with new chips. Another major redesign seems unlikely at the moment.

Hopefully, we'll find out more at E3.
