Square Enix is readying a new Final Fantasy game, which has been referred to as "Lightning Saga". It's probably going to be Final Fantasy XIII-3: SOMETHING SOMETHING, but as Yoshinori Kitase pointed out today on Twitter, "The title isn't Lightning Saga." Phew!

Rather, Square Enix will be unveiling the game's title at its upcoming Final Fantasy event. Just as long as there aren't stupid weather puns!

I like the XIII and XIII-2. I just think the games didn't fare well in an environment where people aren't used to playing turn-based, jRPGs anymore. jRPG stories are always corny, the gameplay is always slow, and the only real difference between our favorite jRPGs of old and XIII is the more linear world outline (they kind of fixed this in XIII-2). It's understandable why a lot of people didn't like it, but I am not ashamed of enjoying this game series.
