Nearly two decades old, venerable MMORPG EverQuest gets its 25th expansion pack on December 11. Called The Burning Lands, the expansion features a war between elemental jann, six new planar zones and a new Luck stat. Also, people are still playing EverQuest.
While my first question may be the most pertinent, it is also the most irrelevant: How many people are still playing this game, to make the development of an expansion worthwhile in 2018?
I mean, I’m sure the answer is “enough people to make it financially viable”, but damn... we are living in a time when some MMORPGs cannot even make it one year before pulling the plug.
