Microsoft makes games for the Xbox 360. Microsoft makes games for the PC. Now Microsoft will be making games for mobile phones!
A job posting over on Microsoft's web site reveals the formation of a new division of the company's internal development force, called MGS Mobile Gaming, which will be "focused on bringing games and entertainment to the mobile life that people lead".
With Windows Phone 7 not only looking good but promising Xbox Live functionality, it makes sense Microsoft would want to begin making games on what the company is surely hoping will become a viable platform.
Let's hope they can come up with stuff that plays to the strengths of the mobile operating system, and we're not just left with Halo Mobile, the 2D adventures of Master Chief.
Unless it was Paper Halo Mobile, the 2D adventures of Master Chief. That would be pretty great.
