Who were the stars of Star Wars? The obvious answers are Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, but they got to spend three movies with their faces visible. What about the people who played Stormtrooper #17, background Imperial Officer or Greedo?
Practically nobody knows who they are, which is where Elstree 1976 comes in. It's a documentary that interviews a bunch of British actors who in the mid-70s signed on to play smaller roles in some sci-fi film called Star Wars that may or may not have gone on to do OK at the box office.
Most are people you've never heard of. Some performances were so peripheral they barely qualified as characters. But there are also some bigger names included, like David Prowse (the man in the Darth Vader suit) and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett).
The project has already been filmed; it's just looking for some cash to get it finished and distributed.
