Between my relatively new daily science posts and my 20-plus years as a fan of the band They Might Be Giants, I cannot get the song "Meet the Elements" out of my head. It's firmly embedded, and no amount of toothpick-ear poking will dislodge it. Yes, I've tried my car keys.
The song is from their 2009 children's album Here Comes Science, though I didn't hear it until the band opened with it when I saw them in concert at the Variety Playhouse earlier this year. Since themn, it's been popping into my head at regular intervals.
Until now. Now it's lodged there. Yes, I tried Q-tips.
My only course of action now, aside from telling you what you might have missed today, is to share the song with you. If enough people get it stuck in their heads, maybe it'll shake the copy in my head use.
