That first image gave me a great idea for a PvE type game. Name it the title of this article “Life on the wall” think Fantasy game. You have classes. Archers (standard or can operate things like balistas and catapults), Soldiers (think tanks from other games big shield and sword, if more than one is together they can form a shield wall by interlocking sheilds), Engineers (build traps an as they level get bigger things like balistas and if they work with other engineers catapults), of course also Mages and Clerics with mages being buffers for all classes and a few distructive spells and Clerics being healers and buffers. The idea is this you have a large wall and expansive field outside. just inside the wall you have a standard MMO style fantasy town with shops selling upgrades and gear and you can go on individual quests around the countryside but say once in every 2 hours at random there’s a siege that takes place at the wall... you have to form parties with friends and large alliances to defend the wall.. so you’d need archers raining down arrows onto the enemy... knights forming sheild walls to protect engineers and mages who could loose powerful battle magic... and a combined arms system... my idea is if you have soldiers together you can form a shield wall or say you have soldiers and an archer you can do some other neat thing like have the mage and cleric do some sort of combo that instead of regular magic allows for much more powerful magics like say if you have 5 of each and they work together they can call down a thunderstorm darkening the sky and loosing bolts of lighting into the enemy.

My last thought and I don’t know if people would like this would be to have each wall start off at like a day 0 and maybe not many monsters show up but as the days progress it goes more and more and more till the wall falls and the city dies and then you start a new season... all your exp is carried over into the next season or if you have enough at the end of a season you can be reborn the next season as hero class and those would be things like Paladin, Elemental Mage and on and on with more unique skills and spells.
