More fan-submitted Lego sets are being reviewed by Lego and could possibly be sold one day

A realistic PlayStation 2 Lego set with moving parts is one of 50+ fan-created sets that could, maybe, one day be available on a store shelf near you. The catch is that Lego’s designers and team have to approve it. And I really, really hope they do.

For those out of the loop, Lego Ideas is an official website that lets people submit their own ideas of possible Lego sets. These sets are then voted on by other Lego fans and collectors, and when a set reaches 10,000 votes, it (and other sets that have reached that milestone) are reviewed by Lego. During this review process the company evaluates many factors, including price, what IP it’s based on, how many bricks would be needed, playability, etc. And if a set passes all that, it moves on to development and eventually becomes a real set you can buy in stores.

On January 7, Lego posted the latest Ideas review where they show all the sets that reached 10,000 votes and are now entering the review process. One of the sets is a very impressive-looking Lego recreation of the PS2, complete with a moving disc tray and internal parts.

According to the Lego Ideas page for the proposed PS2 set, it’s a nearly 1:1 scale replica of the console made up of 2111 pieces. Yowza!

It also comes with memory cards and a brick-built controller, which looks pretty dang good considering it had to be built using pre-existing Lego pieces. You can plug the cards and controller into the PS2 console, which also features a fan and removable network expansion slot.

But this cool PS2 set isn’t the only gaming-related set Lego is reviewing. There are also sets based on Genshin Impact, Deep Rock Galactic, and Geometry Dash. My personal favorite of these other proposed gaming-related sets is an adorable Portal 2 set featuring P-Body and Atlas. Valve and Lego have already worked together so this seems like a no-brainer. Come on Lego, be cool and approve this PS2 set and Portal set.

If you like something click the yellow “Support” button on the page to help it reach 10,000 likes. You can also rate proposed sets and those metrics will be shared with the creator, giving them valuable feedback.

And if you want to see all the sets that made it and are available to buy, just go to this link and scroll away. Just be careful that you don’t buy everything.
