A recent job listing in China is causing quite a stir. The gig promises a good salary and loads of benefits to those able to surf the web and quickly locate porn. Heck, millions already do this for free!

The job listing appeared on the website for Anquan Lianmeng, which as ChinaSmack explains, literally means "Safety Alliance". The group apparently wants to make the internet a safer place and protect people's rights by helping to create criteria to improve the online experience in China...by monitoring porn. Hrm.

Located in Beijing, the listing is for a "Chief Pornography Identification Officer", a job title which better be on your business card. You are to "research and studying pornographic videos and images" as well as create a standard to judge obscenity. You also have to manage and rate the group's porno resources.

1. Familiarity with the different standards of determination of pornographic content of different countries.

2. Familiarity with the standards of determination and express regulations concerning pornography in China’s law.

3. Familiarity with the standards of pornography identification used by CNNIC (China Internet Network Information Center) and various major internet providers.

4. A bachelor’s degree or above; age between 20-35; all genders; 5. Possesses good teamwork skills, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The job comes with benefits—looking at porn all day isn't one of them! They include paid meals, transportation and telephone expenses. Plus, you get health insurance, a free annual physical, a present on your birthday, and free fruit and yogurt everyday. If you get married and have a kid, you'll also get gifts on those occasions, too. The salary is the equivalent of US$32,000—very good by Chinese standards.

When this job listing appeared on Sina, it was viewed over 120,000 times and has over 20,000 comments.

Keep in mind that there are similar jobs in China. They're called censors. It's unclear if this group could be connected to that. So while you'd be earning a living surfing porn, you might ultimately make the internet a worse place for those hoping to do the same. Or not.
