"Kickstarter Is Not a Store". The headline of this piece, banning "product simulations" on the site, says it all.
Good for them for requiring that Kickstarter projects be clearer on the risks involved, but I'm not sure I like the push against product simulations. The language seems to be suggesting that even concept art isn't acceptable. And games like Planetary Annihilation would need completely different videos to show what they intend to build.
I'm not sure how game-makers under these new guidelines can even present what the game might be outside of describing it in flowery text.
EDIT: Sounds like it only applies to product designs, not videogame designs. That's good. Having heard that, all of the changes today seem like a great idea for helping those who invest money in Kickstarter projects. :)
