Heh, try saying that title five times fast!

Coed School was a short-lived, ten-member, mixed-gender group that debuted in 2010. They lasted all of one year and one album before scandal rocked the group when one of the members was revealed to have a shady past including drugs, bullying and possible rape. Not unexpectedly, this cut short Coed School’s lifespan.

Before their untimely demise, though, they left us Bbiri... er, Berra... erm, this song. (It types much easier in Korean: 삐리뽐 빼리뽐!) While the girls would go on to form their own “subunit” called 5dolls and the remaining guys formed their own called Speed, both of their efforts fizzled out, and Coed School is barely a footnote in K-Pop history.

Beer Pong Berry Bong was a modest success at the time of its release, but in the years since, it’s garnered a bit of a small but active following who recognize the song for what it is: an unapologetic piece of manufactured pop that worms its way into our ears and stays there. No, it’s not high art, but fun music doesn’t have to be.

Now, I’m going to go listen to Beetle Boom Didgeridoo a few more times, because it’s most definitely a guilty pleasure of mine and think about my life choices.
