This week in Japan, a new pro basketball league is getting underway, and tonight’s game between Alvark Tokyo and the Ryukyu Golden Kings is being played on an LED court. It’s nuts.

The court for the inaugural B. League game at Yoyogi National Gymnasium is covered with LED light panels. A few years back, Nike created an LED court in China, but according to Kyodo News, the B. League says this is the first of its kind to be used in professional league play.

This is not projection, but actual screens. It makes everything look kind of like, well, video games.
