When a role-playing game is as centered on time travel as the Square classic Chrono Trigger, you really can't argue when I call it one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Guess what I'll be playing come Monday?
You can Final Fantasy fanboy all you want, Squaresoft was at its absolute best when it released Chrono Trigger for the Super Nintendo way back in 1995. The script is by Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii. The character designs courtesy of Dragon Ball's Akira Toriyama. Yasunori Mitsuda and Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu did the music, creating what many consider to be the greatest video game soundtrack ever created. All of these elements came together in a role-playing experience like no other.
If you've never experienced the time traveling adventures of Crono and friends, Monday's release on the Wii Virtual Console is your chance. If you have played it, buy it again. Pretend you come from the future.
